WHY I'M RUNNING FOR CAPE BRETON-CANSO-ANTIGONISH
A Call to Unleash Our Potential
Cape Breton-Canso-Antigonish is a region defined by its resilience and rich resources, yet, for too long, we have not reached our full potential. Like many of your children, siblings, cousins after receiving my secondary education, I was compelled to leave our beloved community in search of opportunities elsewhere. This is a story all too familiar for our generation. But it doesn't have to be this way for the next. We have everything we need right here at home—it's time we had the leadership to harness it.
Under the current administration, fiscal mismanagement has become the norm, not the exception. In 2023 alone, the Liberals' wasteful expenditures soared to unprecedented heights—$21.4 billion spent on outsourcing and professional services. A major project that has seen costs balloon to billions over budget due to mismanagement is the Trans Mountain Pipeline ($7.4bn to $30.9bn). This reckless spending, coupled with new taxes and a 14% increase in money supply since 2020, has eroded our purchasing power and sent inflation skyrocketing. We must take control and steer back towards sustainability to secure a prosperous future for ourselves and generations to come.
As your representative, I am committed to:
-
Eliminating the Carbon Tax: To foster economic freedom and relieve financial pressure on families and businesses.
-
Boosting Local Housing: By supporting and incentivizing municipalities to increase housing development, ensuring everyone in our community has a place to call home.
-
Enhancing Immigration Support: By ensuring we have the infrastructure to welcome new Canadians who can contribute to our economy without strain.
-
Cutting Red Tape and Wasteful Spending: To reduce inflation and redirect funds to essential services.
-
Securing Pensions and Adjusting for Inflation: To protect our seniors and future generations, ensuring they have a secure and dignified retirement.
